Vadinia was as we can see, the city of the water, one of the nine Cantabrian towns mentioned by Ptolomeus in his work "Geographica II", though its exact location is still unknown.

All that is known is that the dwelling or “morada” of Vadinia was in Vegacerneja, on the Arriondas road that leads to Cangas de Onis and the National Park of Picos de Europe.
